Famine

A shocking pic of Famine

One part of our world is dying of hunger while the other part is belching in opulence.

One would walk miles to find a drop of water while one would walk miles to digest his feast.

So, which part are you from?

Are you from where we hear there are plenty of dead trees and cracked soil or are you from where bees make abundant honey while people are busy making money?

Are you from where tall buildings are things you can be proud of or are you from where drought is the answer to all hinder?

Please tell me who you are.

Are you the one who enjoys all the time savoring red ripe cherries and sweet chilies or are you the one who is crying among babies crawling with swollen bellies?

Are you the one who is living in peace with no worries or are you the one broken in several countless of pieces with painful stories?

Despite wherever you may come from, starvation is present is every nation.

Despite whoever you are, I’m sure you are not alien to the word famine.

I actually thought it might break your heart to know that one person every four seconds face death from malnutrition while at the same time 1.3 billion tons of foods are wasted every year on the same planet.

I truly believe if you have faith in humanity, you will plant every seed and pluck any weed with the intention to feed and save someone`s life by your deeds.

And I really hope you will speak to the world on this because as long as people feel weak, our future is bleak.

However, even though you don`t want to share your dish, I dare you to remember what I wish for.

I wish that after every heavy meal you had, you would still crave as your famished neighbor.

I wish that your conscience pricks you whenever you are eating like a glutton inside your dwelling without caring.

I wish that you feel shameful and guilty as a murderer each time you throw away leftovers in the garbage.

After all, Why don’t you see that you are only blind up to you want to be?

Together, we can strengthen unity against scarcity and change the destiny of all those children going to sleep on empty stomachs every night.

Let’s get involved in the mission to eradicate famine and move with full conviction towards the same destination of making consumption a reality to the whole world population.

    • Hi EC,

I’m very grateful to you for giving us the opportunity to share our stand through this page.

For me, this whole idea of creating such a platform came from what we call a real intellectual.

Coming to the message I want to pass, it is simple if I can quote Mother Teresa: “If you can`t feed a hundred people, then feed just one”

Thank you so much for your kind words.

      Cheers ^^,
      Angela

  2. Angela.. I stand in between, I mean that I'm not suffering from any famine and at the same time I don't give a blind eye to this big number of people who are dying from hunger. In my country, we are dying because of siege and we are freedom- hungry, we need to be free and end the Israeli occupation.
I blame myself in every time I threw something in garbage, I automatically remember those people who wish to eat a dry piece of bread while I'm fed up with cake and biscuits!
You did a great job by writing about this topic as a human who cares. Thank you!

    • Dear Blue, thank you for sharing your views.

I agree that unfortunately famine is not the only plague in the world to fight against. The society is so sick that sometimes I believe it might be affected by incurable diseases.

I understand your story. I`ll pray for you. Everyone has the right to be free.

      Don`t give up on hope.
We are indeed the change we want to see.

      Take care
      With love,
      Angela

  3. This really a very bad situation .whenever I see poor and people , I want to help them but something stops me ..everyone is competing in this world ..no one has time to think about others..this problem has big and deep roots ..we need to cut it down..today a beggar child came to me and asked for money..I gave him a note of Rs. 10 and some biscuits but what else I could have done..I can't understand..how I can stop this but then I realize ..I can't do anything alone..we need to unite and make the changes and of course we should be the change first. At least we can stop wasting the food.
You did a great job! I appreciate your steps towards the real problems in the world.
    God bless you 🙂

  4. The main problem here is CORRUPTION. When the govt is corrupt, the people will suffer for starvation. In every country, poverty is present.
How can we help them for extreme starvation and hunger? DONATE...DONATE.. a small amount we have share, a thousand or millions of children will help for malnutrition and hunger
The UNICEF seeking funds all over the world.
The story ive read is really heart breaking.

    Im from philippines.
    Thank you,
    Lyn
